Direct Sales Representative - Automotive Finishes

Job TitleJob duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.ResponsibilitiesConduct competitive product comparisons and identify current competitors' strengths and weaknesses.Initiate and cultivate relationships with prospective and existing jobbers and end users through targeted sales outreach to identify growth opportunities and strengthen market presence.Leverage value selling principles to develop a strategy to grow sales and profitability across key, prospective, and existing accounts.Through a consultative sales process, accurately assess customer needs and develop tailored solutions that contribute to sustainable and profitable business growth.Acquire comprehensive knowledge of all products within the Sherwin-Williams Automotive portfolio, including proper application techniques and surface preparation requirements.Conduct product demonstrations to assist with sales and marketing efforts for automotive refinishing products.Provide product and technical information to address customers' application needs. Support customer with technical, sales, and marketing assistance as needed.Address customer complaints and oversee the resolution process to ensure timely and effective outcomes.Support customers in configuring and implementing mixing systems, including evaluating and recommending appropriate inventory levels.Support in color verification and field color formulations. Effectively manage expense control and sales management.May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age.Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1, etc.)Must have at least a High School Diploma or GEDMust have a valid unrestricted Driver's LicenseMust have one (1) year of working experience in salesMust be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasionPreferred QualificationsHave at least one (1) year of experience in the paint and coatings industryHave at least two (2) years' experience working in outside salesHave bachelor's degree or higherHave one (1) year of experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Access and Power PointHave one (1) year of experience utilizing a Customer Retention Management System (CRM)Have one (1) year of experience conducting product demosTravel Requirements: (Time Spent Away From Home Or Other Typical Office Location)• 10%About UsAt Sherwin-Williams, our purpose is to inspire and improve the world by coloring and protecting what matters.
