Accounting/Payroll Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting/Payroll Assistant to process payroll, provide accounts payable support including inventory accounts payable, and benefits admin support in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. This is a full-time, on-site position five days a week.
The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of payroll experience along with accounts payable and general administrative support within HR or accounting functions.
Essential Responsibilities
Payroll
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
- Maintain payroll records and employee data
- Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, and payroll changes for accuracy
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and year-end processing
- Respond to employee payroll-related questions
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Benefits & HR Support
- Assist with benefits billing reconciliation and tracking
- Support onboarding and employee record maintenance
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information
- Assist with audits and reporting requests as needed
Accounts Payable
- Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Assist with payment processing and vendor communication
- Maintain organized AP files and records Support month-end reconciliation activities
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of payroll processing experience required
- Experience with accounts payable functions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
