Chief Information OfficerThe Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides enterprise leadership for Orthopaedic Solutions Management's (OSM) information technology strategy, operations, cybersecurity, data governance, and technology-enabled transformation. As a member of the executive leadership team and OSM's senior-most technology executive, the CIO aligns technology investments and capabilities with the organization's strategic priorities, growth objectives, and operational needs while ensuring reliable, secure, scalable, and resilient technology across the enterprise.The CIO oversees IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, data management, IT governance, technology budgets, vendor relationships, and major technology initiatives. This role partners closely with executive, physician, and operational leaders to improve efficiency, strengthen risk management, support informed decision-making, and drive digital transformation. The CIO also builds, leads, and develops a high-performing IT team and ensures technology capabilities effectively support innovation and organizational growth.OSM is a physician-led, physician-majority-owned management services organization (MSO) supporting orthopaedic practices that continue to be led by their physicians. Success in this role requires a clear understanding of that ownership and financial model, including how the MSO's relationship with its partner practices is structured, how physician ownership shapes governance and decision-making, and how technology investments affect practice economics and physician owners. The CIO must be able to build credibility and consensus with physician leaders as effectively as with the executive team.This is a transformation role, not a steady-state one, and OSM is specifically seeking a transformation CIO. The organization has grown through partnerships with established practices, many of which brought their own systems, vendors, and processes, and the CIO will continue building the enterprise technology structure (platforms, governance, standards, and team) needed to support that growth. The right candidate is a builder with a track record of creating structure where it does not yet exist, consolidating and standardizing disparate environments, and delivering lasting change without disrupting patient care or practice operations. Candidates whose experience is primarily in running or optimizing mature, stable IT organizations are unlikely to succeed in this role.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute an enterprise IT strategy and technology roadmap aligned with the organization's business objectives, growth priorities, and long-term operating model.Assess the current technology environment across OSM's partner practices and lead the consolidation and standardization of core platforms, infrastructure, processes, and IT support into a scalable enterprise model.Lead technology due diligence for prospective practice partnerships and develop repeatable integration playbooks to onboard new practices, including electronic health record (EHR) and practice management conversions, data migration, and security remediation, with minimal disruption to patient care and practice revenue.Serve as a strategic technology advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, physician leaders, and other senior leaders, translating business priorities into practical technology solutions and investments, and report on technology strategy, risk, and performance to the executive team and Board of Directors.Lead digital transformation and modernization initiatives that improve operational efficiency, productivity, scalability, physician and patient experience, and competitive positioning.Oversee day-to-day enterprise IT operations, including infrastructure, networks, enterprise applications, cloud services, end-user technology, cybersecurity, data platforms, and service delivery, and establish IT service management disciplines (service desk, incident, change, and asset management) with defined service levels.Establish and maintain enterprise architecture, technology standards, and system roadmaps that support secure, scalable, interoperable, and reliable technology environments.Oversee the EHR, practice management, revenue cycle, imaging, and ambulatory surgery center systems that support partner practices, working with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle leaders to improve workflow, productivity, and financial performance.Ensure critical technology systems are resilient, appropriately supported, and aligned with business continuity and operational requirements.Lead the organization's cybersecurity strategy, including security governance, risk assessment, incident preparedness and response, vulnerability management, third-party risk management, and protection of sensitive organizational and patient information.Develop, implement, and monitor IT governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and controls to support compliance with HIPAA and other applicable laws, regulations, contractual requirements, and internal standards, in partnership with compliance and legal leaders.Oversee data governance and management practices that promote data integrity, availability, security, appropriate access, and effective use of data for analytics and decision-making, and build the enterprise data and analytics capabilities needed for consistent reporting across partner practices and for value-based care and quality programs.Direct the prioritization, planning, execution, and change management of major technology projects and initiatives through a technology governance process that engages physician and operational leaders, ensuring resources are aligned with enterprise priorities and measurable business outcomes.Develop and manage IT operating and capital budgets, evaluate return on technology investments at both the practice and enterprise level, and maintain appropriate financial controls over technology spending.Lead vendor selection, contract negotiation, licensing, service-level management, and vendor performance oversight to ensure cost-effective, reliable technology partnerships, and leverage OSM's scale to consolidate vendors and contracts across partner practices.Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, automation, and cybersecurity solutions, when they provide meaningful operational or strategic value, with appropriate governance for their safe and responsible use.Lead patient- and provider-facing digital capabilities, such as online scheduling, digital intake, patient communications, and contact center technology, that improve access, experience, and practice efficiency.Design the IT organization and sourcing model, and recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team with clear accountability, strong service orientation, and capabilities that support the organization's evolving needs.Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and proactive problem-solving across the IT function and its partnerships with other departments.Perform other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field required.Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.At least 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise information technology, including at least 5 years of senior IT leadership responsibility; prior experience as a Chief Information Officer or in a comparable executive technology role strongly preferred.Healthcare industry experience required; experience in a management services organization (MSO), physician practice management company, or multi-site physician group strongly preferred.Clear understanding of the MSO ownership and financial model and how technology decisions affect practice economics, physician owners, and enterprise performance.Demonstrated success developing and executing IT strategy, leading digital transformation, improving technology operations, and managing complex technology initiatives and organizational change.Track record as a transformation CIO or senior technology leader: building IT structure, governance, and teams where they did not previously exist; consolidating disparate systems, vendors, and processes; and integrating acquired or partner organizations in a growing, multi-site environment.Preferred Qualifications & SkillsStrong expertise in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, technology portfolio and project management, and change management.Deep understanding of cybersecurity, IT governance, enterprise risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery, and information privacy and security requirements.Strong working knowledge of modern enterprise technologies, including cloud computing, data analytics, enterprise applications, infrastructure, and cybersecurity solutions.Strong financial and business acumen, including experience managing technology budgets, evaluating investment priorities, negotiating contracts, and overseeing vendor relationships.Excellent executive-level communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex technology issues into clear business implications and recommendations.Demonstrated ability to build, lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technology teams and establish a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement.Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, balance competing priorities, make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, and drive results across cross-functional teams.Experience in orthopaedics or other musculoskeletal specialty care, including ambulatory surgery centers, preferred.Hands-on experience with ambulatory EHR, practice management, and revenue cycle platforms, including multi-site conversions or consolidations.Familiarity with value-based care and alternative payment models and the data and reporting capabilities they require.Experience working within physician-led governance and presenting
