Nelson Builders is hiring a Lead Carpenter — someone who knows how to run a clean, organized job site and genuinely loves the craft. If you're a skilled carpenter who wants to guide residential remodeling projects from start to finish, and you take real ownership of the work you put your name on, we want to meet you.

Day to day, you'll set the pace on the job site: doing the hands-on carpentry yourself, keeping each project moving smoothly, and making sure things run right from the first day of demo to the final walkthrough. If you believe in doing the job correctly the first time, like helping newer carpenters grow, and want a company that's just as invested in its people as its projects, this is the role for you.

$32 - $37 hourly

• Handle daily hands-on carpentry — framing, trim, cabinetry, and installations
• Set the tone on-site by working shoulder-to-shoulder with the crew
• Run residential remodeling projects from kickoff to completion
• Interpret plans, drawings, and specs accurately
• Keep daily job site activities organized while staying hands-on yourself
• Guide and support crew members and trade partners throughout the project
• Represent the company professionally in all homeowner interactions
• Keep projects on schedule and address delays before they become problems
• Stay in regular contact with the production manager and office team
• Hold the work to company quality standards and client expectations
• Solve on-site problems quickly and practically as they arise
• Keep the job site clean, safe, and well-organized
• Help plan, pick up, and organize materials on-site
• Keep all work aligned with local building codes and safety requirements

• 3+ years in residential carpentry or remodeling
• Skilled in both rough and finish carpentry
• Able to balance hands-on work with light on-site leadership
• Comfortable reading and interpreting plans
• Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail
• Collaborative, with solid communication skills
• Some experience leading or mentoring others on a job site
• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• Physically able to handle the work, including lifting 50+ lbs
• Working knowledge of job site safety practices
