Director of Construction Operations

Job Description

Day to Day

· Qualify the company and maintain an active Florida CGC license in good standing.

· Oversee all construction operations including estimating, bidding, selling work, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, safety, billing, collections, and crew management.

· Build the operational infrastructure from scratch including SOPs, contracts, workflows, supplier relationships, subcontractor partnerships, and equipment needs.

· Hire and develop field crews, starting with a team of 4-5 laborers supporting 10-12 projects per month.

· Spend Year 1 heavily focused on residential concrete and flatwork operations, including boots-on-the-ground project execution and selling jobs in person.

· Work closely with founder-generated leads, meeting clients and closing business.

· Train and build out future sales, accounting, HR, and operations teams as the company scales.

Lead the company's growth plan from residential work into commercial, municipal, government, and eventually FDOT civil infrastructure projects.

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves

· Active Florida CGC license.

· 7+ years of experience in concrete, flatwork, paving, demolition, civil construction, or related fields.

· 3+ years directly managing crews, projects, and construction operations.

· Experience bidding, estimating, selling, and running construction projects.

· Experience building teams, processes, and operations.

· Residential construction experience is required; commercial experience is highly preferred.

Ability to scale operations from smaller residential projects to larger commercial scopes. Pluses

· Government, municipal, or public-sector construction experience.

· Experience with FDOT projects.

· Combination of residential and commercial construction leadership experience.
