Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Job Summary To perform tasks necessary for maintaining continuous materials supply at each machine to enable efficient operations without disruption due to lack of materials. 2nd shift 3:45 pm - 12:16 am. Training will be on 1st shift – 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Job Duties Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse. Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents. Maintains company’s quality standards. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Opens containers. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Loads truck. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Removes samples of materials and labels with identifying information. Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators. Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Job Qualifications High school diploma or Equivalent (GED). One to two years of experience in a related field. Basic computer knowledge. Exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills. Must possess good problem solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Willingness to work as team member or independently.
