About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: South Carolina license or Compact license Certifications: BLS required, ACLS and NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Experience in Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry - Skills in insulin management and rapid response Description: Position available for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. The shift is 4x12s, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. The staffing plan supports a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6 during normal conditions. In case of unplanned absences, the ratio may flex to 1:7. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. On-call requirements may be necessary on a prn basis due to low census. Travelers will need to float within scope to meet facility needs. Experience is preferred, but first-time travelers will be considered. Candidates must have a valid South Carolina or Compact nursing license prior to starting. BLS certification is required, and ACLS and NIHSS certifications are preferred. Epic experience is necessary for charting. The unit cares for adults and geriatric patients with typical medical surgical diagnoses. All patients are eligible for telemetry monitoring conducted by central staff. The unit consists of 12 beds and provides interdisciplinary support. Special equipment includes telemedicine tools, with instructions provided upon arrival. Candidates should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. All requests for time off must be included at the time of submission.
