Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Providing specialized intensive care within the Neurovascular Intensive Care Unit, this role involves managing critically ill patients with complex neurological and vascular conditions. The nurse will deliver expert care, monitor vital signs, and utilize advanced technology to support patient recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement patient care based on individual medical needs and condition acuity.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures such as central line and arterial line insertions, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions.
• Monitor patient status using ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000 devices, ensuring optimal function and safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and communicate patient progress effectively.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech, adhering to hospital policies and guidelines.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies, providing attentive and compassionate support to patients and families.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with active status.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, preferably in neurovascular or critical care settings.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Proven ability to perform advanced ICU procedures with technical proficiency.
• Strong critical thinking, judgment, and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, with self-scheduling preferences.
