Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN)

Location: Watertown, NY
Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
Radius Rule: 100-mile radius

Position Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New York State RN license .
• BLS certification required .
• ACLS preferred .
• Operating Room/ASU nursing experience preferred.
• Experienced RNs should demonstrate strong knowledge of nursing principles and the ability to provide high-quality patient care.
• Ability to assess and address patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs.
• Knowledge of clinical equipment and instrumentation used to maintain a safe and aseptic OR/ASU environment.
• Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias .

Leadership & Clinical Skills

• Preceptorship, charge nurse, and leadership experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills.
• May be required to assume charge nurse responsibilities .
• Strong creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Safety Requirements

• Ability to identify and address safety concerns for patients and staff.
• Knowledge of safe patient-handling practices.
• Ability to assess when lifts are needed and implement appropriate lift equipment to safely move patients.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekend coverage required
• Holiday coverage required
• Call required
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• 13-week assignment
