Assistant Director of Activities

Deer Meadows Rehabilitation Center (DMRC) is seeking a compassionate and innovative Assistant Director of Activities to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and engagement of our residents through a variety of recreational, social, and entertainment programs.

About the Assistant Director of Activities Role:

As an Assistant Director of Activities, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a diverse range of activities, events, and outings that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents. This includes:

• Programming and Planning: Create and manage a calendar of events, including entertainment, educational, and social programs

• Staff Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of activity professionals, ensuring high-quality programs and excellent resident experiences

• Budget Management: Oversee program budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources

• Communication: Collaborate with other departments, residents, and families to ensure seamless execution of activities

Assistant Director of Activities Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement activity programs that meet the needs and interests of residents

• Supervise and evaluate the performance of activity staff, providing feedback and guidance

• Monitor and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources

• Foster relationships with local community organizations and vendors to enhance programming

• Participate in weekly meetings with the Director of Nursing and other department leaders to discuss resident care and program development
