Paid time off is earned according to the local policy and increases with the length of employment.Click HERE to discover how we empower team members to grow, thrive, and advance in their careers.WE LOVE OUR WORK.The Riverboat Superintendent is responsible for managing the operation of the casino vessel ensuring compliance with the all applicable USCG regulations and the policies/procedures of L’Auberge Lake Charles. The incumbent in this position is also responsible for serving both the external and internal customers by providing a clean, friendly and safe atmosphere on the vessel.GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.)Plans, directs and coordinates the fire, safety, and emergency procedures of the casino to ensure the safety of passengers, employees and property in keeping with U.S. Coast Guard regulations.Abides by Louisiana Gaming Commission regulations as it pertains to riverboat gaming. Observes and enforces compliance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations on the vessel and for all vessel personnel.Adheres to and enforces the established policies and procedures of L’Auberge Baton RougeDirects deck and engine personnel on watch to complete daily maintenance and repair tasks. Assists the Director of Slot Performance Operations with project goals as requested.BRING US YOUR BEST.WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAbility to create or read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence and process needed reports. Ability to speak effectively with customers and/or employees.Ability to create or carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems and implement effective solutions.Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization required to perform job responsibilities. Ability to work in a drug free environment and pass a chemical dependency test as required.May be exposed to strong fumes, waste materials or toxins. This position operates in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, cold, heat, humidity, vibration, crowds, and smoke.JOB QUALIFICATIONSHigh level of interpersonal skills. Must be detail oriented. Must have supervisory and training skills.These skills and abilities are typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree (preferred), but maybe be substituted by experience. In addition to, three years experience as a Captain (or 5 years as a Mate) onboard passenger vessels is required, plus U.S. Coast Guard License as 4000 GT Master on Western Rivers, and Radar Observer Rivers at a minimum.STAY IN THE GAME.
