Payroll Accountant

Payroll AccountantPayroll Accountant position is an entry-level to mid-level business professional who is responsible for preparing financial reviews and analysis of labor and the associated labor burden areas by geographic and operational business lines. They will prepare products intended to support executive-level decision-making on labor and burden. They will support the accounting and FP&A department with required financial and accounting close tasks.Essential FunctionsHave an understanding of the payroll process, payroll deductions, and payroll liabilities.Understand how to identify labor burden costs.Ability to tie financial statement line-items to general ledger and cost reports.Understanding of accounting debits and credits, cash flow statements, balance sheets, income statements, and footnote disclosures.Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processesPrepare and analyze records and reportsPerform account reconciliationsBook monthly activity for related entitiesAll other duties as assignedOtherParticipate in special projects, team training and developmentFoster and maintain a safe work environmentAssist with the leadership and development of project team membersCompetenciesFinancial ManagementEthical ConductStrong oral and written communication skillsCommunication proficiencyCustomer/client focusDiversity and inclusionResults drivenTeamwork orientationExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsSupervisory RequirementsNo direct reports or supervisory requirements.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical, office setting. This position sometimes requires long hours and weekend work.TravelThe role prefers travel (10-20%) to project sites to partake in project audits that include review of the project equipment schedule and its costs.
