Key Responsibilities of the RN - MedSurg/Tele

• Manage care for patients with acute or chronic diseases in a Level 1 Trauma setting
• Perform trach care and chest tube management
• Start and manage PIVs, glucommander, insulin and heparin drips
• Conduct IV insertion, care, and central line management
• Implement cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
• Develop discharge planning and patient education

Requirements of the RN - MedSurg/Tele

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• BCR competency (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) with EKG competency exam required
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience
• Strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills
