Title: Co-Site Coordinator (STEM Lead / Co-Site Coordinator)

Description

This position is designed to ensure that all Club members graduate from high school on time, ready for a post-secondary education and a 21st-century career, while providing site leadership and specialized STEM enrichment programming.

The Co-Site Coordinator is part of a team-oriented Club staff dedicated to serving youth and creating an optimal Club Experience. This position plans, supervises, and implements a variety of high-yield activities and targeted programs with an educational and STEM focus.

This position is responsible for ensuring youth development principles are incorporated into education and STEM programs and activities; providing guidance and discipline to maintain a safe and positive environment for youth; incorporating character development and age-appropriate programs and activities; ensuring culturally responsive programming is implemented; and assisting, as needed, with the planning, implementation, and delivery of activities and programs for youth ages 6 to 18.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Prepare Youth for Success

This position’s primary responsibilities are:

• Planning and implementing a variety of educational programs for members of all ages, including CareerLaunch, Computer Science Pathway, Diplomas2Degrees, DIY STEM, Money Matters, Power Hour, Summer Brain Gain, Tech Girls Rock, and Ultimate Journey
• Recruiting and retaining youth for educational programs
• Collaborating with other Club staff to implement these programs throughout the school year
• Collecting and maintaining student grades and other educational data

This position helps members make appropriate choices related to their education, careers, social development, physical and emotional well-being, and future goals. The position also assesses the developmental needs, interests, and characteristics of youth to develop targeted programs that support an outcome-driven Club Experience.

1. Ensure programs, services, and activities prepare youth for success by promoting member safety, program quality, and a positive Club environment at all times. Provide guidance and serve as a positive role model for members.
2. Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:

• Planning and organizing a range of program services and activities for members, including field trips, program-specific activities, guest speakers, and special events.
• Initiating new programs with the approval of the Program Director/Unit Director.
• Promoting and encouraging program participation.

1. Ensure continuous quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests, and participating in weekly Club staff meetings.

1. Participate in local, state, regional, and national Boys & Girls Clubs education programs and competitions.

Health and Safety

1. Ensure a healthy and safe environment by actively supervising members in the program area.
2. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the program area.
3. Maintain an inventory of program equipment and supplies in good order and recommend requisitions as necessary.

Program Administration

1. Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director/Unit Director regarding activities, special programs, upcoming events, attendance, and other required information.
2. Maintain a daily written schedule and ensure programs begin and end on time.

STEM LEAD / CO-SITE COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Co-Site Coordinator (STEM Lead YDP) works closely with the Site Coordinator to provide leadership for STEM and enrichment programming while maintaining active instructional duties. Lead, develop, and implement STEM and academic enrichment activities aligned with 21st CCLC program goals, integrating STEM across multiple learning areas.

• Support site management, scheduling, staff collaboration, and planning related to STEM resources, materials, and program needs.
• During STEM Lead hours, work directly with students in academic and project-based learning activities while maintaining required staffing ratios, including 10:1 for academic instruction and 20:1 for project-based learning.
• Serve as a liaison with key stakeholders, community partners, and STEM training providers to promote innovative, high-quality learning experiences.
• Lead specialized initiatives such as STEM Extreme Enrichment and other technology-based or STEM-focused programs.
• Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery, student engagement, documentation, and grant compliance.
• Mentor Youth Development Professionals and support teachers in embedding STEM concepts into academic and enrichment activities.
• Assist with recruitment, family engagement events, evaluation activities, and other site-wide initiatives connected to grant-funded objectives and student outcomes.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. May participate in additional special programs and/or events.
2. Evening and weekend work may be required.
3. May be required to drive a Club van.
   • (Requires a valid driver’s license and a three-year clean driving record.)
4. Other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff, volunteers, members, and supervisors to exchange information, discuss issues, explain guidelines and instructions, provide direction, and offer guidance.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

High school diploma or GED

Ability to pass a DCF Level II background screening and drug test

Experience

• Knowledge of youth development
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues
• Ability to work with the public
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs specific to academic development
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position generally works Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., but may require additional hours outside this schedule and occasional weekend work. Work is conducted indoors and outdoors.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and squatting
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion
• Ability to hear at a normal conversational level
• Ability to maintain high energy level when necessary
• High degree of emotional intelligence
