Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager
Construction - HVAC & Plumbing
Kansas City, Kansas
Overview
Join a well-established commercial mechanical contractor in Kansas City with a clear path into Project Management. You’ll work directly under a tenured Operations Manager who will mentor and develop you into a full PM role.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers on commercial HVAC/plumbing projects
- Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and change orders
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Help manage schedules, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Attend project meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Track project progress and identify potential risks/issues
Qualifications
- 1–5+ years in construction (mechanical preferred)
- Experience with commercial projects a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc. preferred)
- Eagerness to learn and grow into Project Management
