The EHS Coordinator will administer environmental programs and help develop, establish, and assist in maintaining environmental health and safety program within the plant. The environmental health and safety program should strive to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements and provide for a safe work environment that is free of hazards. The Senior EHS Coordinator will use a behavioral based approach while driving the health and safety program in pursuit of zero work-related injuries or illnesses.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists with all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety programAssist in ensuring compliance to all Safe Work Practices (SWP), regulatory standards (EPA, ADEM, OSHA, NFPA, etc.) and plant policies and proceduresBe a valued member of both the Safety and Environmental World Class Manufacturing (WCM) PillarsAssist with the ISO 14001 requirements and audit process for continued certificationPerform the annual reporting of SARA 313 documents.Responsible for Title V and water permits.Assists outside Environmental firms to ensure environmental complianceFormulate and deliver environmental training presentations and training for both small and large audiences, hourly and salariedAssist with the delivery of EHS orientation to new and temporary associatesAssist in ensuring proper training and compliance to plant EHS policies and procedures involving contractor / vendor personnelConduct proactive environmental surveys and inspections in order to identify potential risksPerform, document, and trend behavioral-safety observationsAnalyze data and perform trending analysis in order to identify and implement corrective actions as well as develop strategic risk mitigation strategiesAssists in providing technical assistance to associates in evaluating new / altered production equipment for potential hazardsAssist in maintaining assorted databases and software programs in support of the EMS/WCM Department and Plant EHS initiativesAid in the completion of the Plant's bi-weekly, monthly and annual reportsAssist in providing oversight to Plant's hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage, handling and transport programHelp research safety equipment for its application and purchaseAssist in personal protective equipment (PPE) selection and trials as well as to ensure its proper use, maintenance and storageServe as an EHS Champion in furthering "Safety First" cultureTo be engaged with shop floor supervisors and employees through time on the floor; expected to be at least 50% of timeRequirements (including educational requirements)Associates degree in Safety, Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Biology, Chemistry or related discipline with a minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing and/or EHS role.Strong working knowledge of all OSHA and EPA (ADEM) regulations, and experience assisting with visits and auditsKnowledge of SPCC and SWPP Programs and Permits, and NPDES PermitsKnowledge of Environmental Sampling and Record Keeping in regards to SPCC and BMPKnowledge of Tier II and FORM R reporting, Air permitting, and hazardous waste managementExcellent verbal and written skills to include technical writingStrong interpersonal and presentations skills are essentialAdvanced computer skills are essential – Microsoft Office environmentTo be able to work irregular hours at times including evening and weekends to accommodate the needs of a 24/7 manufacturing operationWhat We OfferA commitment that Safety is #1Competitive benefits, pay, and retirement plan options!Career growth, stability, and flexible work arrangements.Responsible Manufacturing – Protecting Our Planet for the FutureWe utilize renewable energy and a closed loop recycled water process.We are committed to reducing greenhouse emissions and water consumption.We are the only flooring company recognized by the Asthma and Allergy foundation.Who We Are:With a history of more than 140 years, Tarkett is a worldwide leader in innovative and sustainable flooring and sport surface solutions, generating turnover of €3.3 billion in 2025.
