Shop Foreman

The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations related to bridge cranes and associated products. This role provides leadership to shop personnel, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. The Shop Foreman is responsible for supervising employees, maintaining equipment, coordinating schedules, and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient, high-quality production. Supervise shop personnel and provide direction, coaching, and support to maximize employee performance and development. Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for manufacturing positions, including welders, fitters, machinists, and other skilled trades. Communicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, training, and development. Recommend promotions, corrective actions, and disciplinary measures when appropriate. Monitor and coordinate daily production schedules to maximize productivity and meet project deadlines. Ensure manufacturing equipment, including welding fixtures, CNC machines, and plasma tables, is properly maintained and operating efficiently. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies while promoting a safe work environment. Collaborate with engineering, service, parts, purchasing, and accounting departments to ensure smooth operations and timely project completion. Identify and resolve production issues while promoting effective problem‑solving among team members. Provide feedback to the training and safety departments to support continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate the procurement of materials required for active projects, including structural steel and consumables. Monitor quality standards and ensure finished products meet company and customer requirements. Maintain accurate production records and communicate progress, delays, and resource needs to management. Qualifications Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, welding practices, fabrication, and material handling. Ability to safely operate and oversee the use of manufacturing equipment. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Education and Experience Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred; Bachelor's degree is a plus. Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing or shop experience. Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience. Experience in structural steel fabrication, overhead cranes, or heavy equipment manufacturing is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
