Commercial Driver's License Class A Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status Ability to meet the physical requirements outlined in the job descriptionReports to: Buildings & Grounds SupervisorJob Goal: To perform duties which will maintain the physical school plant, grounds and equipment in a condition of safety and excellence.Performance Responsibilities:Buildings and Grounds MaintenanceMaintains preventative maintenance logs and other records as required.Maintains schedules of maintenance work ensures that proper supplies are on hand for necessary repairs and for preventative maintenance.Ensures proper maintenance and operation of district facilities.Strives to promote a health and safe environment for staff and students.Responsible for the preparation of playing fields, grounds and other necessary facilities for school activities, when assigned.Maintains clean and well-kept vehicles, tools and equipment.Responsible for ground maintenance including, mowing the grass, trimming, weeding, edging, etc.Has basic knowledge of the district's school integrated pest management policy.Understands and maintains required records, and to respond to inquiries regarding the pest management program.Avoids oil spills or other pollution.Maintains clean and safe work areas.Responsible for snow removal and other duties necessary to prepare the facilities for the safe arrival of staff and students.Recommends for purchase necessary equipment and supplies and maintains an inventory of them.Immediately reports any theft, vandalism or misappropriation of supplies to the buildings & grounds supervisor.Determines and establishes detailed specifications pertaining to supplies, materials, equipment and local contract work.Inspects all school grounds on a regular basis to determine that high standards of operability, cleanliness, safety and security are maintained.Physical requirements:Lifting (up to 50 lbs.)Climbing laddersAbility to sweep, mop, mow, shovel, paint, light machine work, light carpentry work, drilling, etc.Other:May be required, for security purposes, to wear specific work clothing or uniform while on duty.When assigned, will participate in emergency and security drills and procedures.Be able to work overtime to complete maintenance tasks in extraordinary circumstances (snow removal, summer projects, building alarms, etc.)Performs related duties within the scope of the job description as assigned by the buildings and grounds supervisor.Delivers inter-office and inter-school mail and other deliveries as needed.Employment Conditions:Contract year: Twelve months (July 1 to June 30)Bargaining Unit: TFSSAEvaluation: In accordance with board policyDate(s) of Revision: Approved: 5/18/88 Revised: 5/15/91; 9/15/93; 6/21/95; 5/20/15
