A key aspect of this role will be partnering with and activating lay leaders, including major gift program chairs and vice chairs, to deepen donor relationships, broaden networks, and inspire a culture of philanthropy across the movement. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the National Director will also collaborate regularly with the CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, and other senior leaders, as well as engage with members of the Board of Directors to align strategies, share insights, and advance organizational priorities. Candidate Profile While Repair the World will consider a broad range of backgrounds, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Passion for Repair the World’s mission and organizational values; deep commitment to the Jewish future and strengthening Jewish community and volunteering. Demonstrated understanding of Jewish communal service through personal or professional engagement. 5+ years of professional experience in fundraising, with a track record of securing and stewarding major gifts from individuals; preference for candidates with experience contributing to the growth of a major gifts program or giving society, familiarity with New York City-based philanthropy, and the capacity to grow into prospective staff management responsibility. Knowledge of and fundamental adherence to the principles, ethics, and best practices of modern fundraising, including strategies to cultivate greater donor commitments and synergies that can be achieved across various fundraising programs. Strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills and the interpersonal agility to move seamlessly from the soup kitchen to the board room; a storyteller able to speak about Jewish service with passion. Ability to execute tailored cultivation and stewardship strategies for high-net-worth individuals. Demonstrated success in developing the case for support and executing strategic, innovative fundraising plans, including experience collaborating with executives, senior staff, and board or other volunteer leaders on fundraising‑related activities, providing them with quality support and intelligence and increasing their comfort with and success in fundraising. Experience identifying, nurturing, and motivating volunteers, and an appreciation for their role in building an effective fundraising network. Unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness; mature judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information. Solutions‑oriented leader with a service mindset who elevates organizational goals and values beyond personal gain; adaptable in approach and in recognizing when collaboration or complementing oneself with others is in the best interest of achieving desired outcomes. Track record of leading with a growth mindset and commitment to excellence; highly organized and self‑directed, with experience managing multiple projects, funding deadlines, and internal stakeholders simultaneously. Ability to extract and analyze data to make effective, efficient decisions about donor strategy and process. Experience with CRM, project management tools, and Google Workspace, preferred. Committed to continuous learning.
