School Aide

School Aide – Special Education Support

The School Aide supports students who require instructional, behavioral, personal-care, or mobility assistance. Under the direction of the special education department, teacher, or supervising designee, the School Aide helps students access their educational program and may assist with therapeutic or physical-care needs as directed by licensed professionals.

?? Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support under teacher/special education supervision

• Assist students with personal care, mobility, and daily living skills

• Support therapeutic activities as directed by SLP, OT, PT, or other health professionals

• Maintain confidentiality and follow all professional standards

• Support students across school environments (classroom, playground, cafeteria, etc.)

?? Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Compliance with all professional standards of practice

• Current CPR (if applicable)

• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

• Current health certificate (per contract/state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
