Role Overview Provide technical expertise in testing aircraft systems and in troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to keep schedule impact to a minimum. The technician implements process changes that reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising safety or quality, and may fill in for the Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician, enforcing company safety and quality goals while following daily work plans to maintain schedule requirements. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate technical skill and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting Install and functionally test electrical and avionics components and systems on aircraft per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free system Ensure the quality and efficiency of all installations; troubleshoot processes and concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems Repair or replace defective components and wiring so that installations meet conformity, using accepted techniques including splicing, soldering and pinning of wiring Perform and comply with engineering changes and modifications as required Set up and operate the necessary test equipment; conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability Ensure that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented and ready for inspection Test and maintain test equipment, electronic systems and components Comply with the company foreign object damage programme, tool control programme, 5S programme and all safety regulations Adapt to sudden schedule changes Additional duties In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, work may include flight tests on aircraft as required Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of aircraft systems other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installation and repair Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work in confined areas and lift up to 50 pounds (23 kg) Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Licences & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Four years of experience in an avionics or electrical career field, or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two years of related experience A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) licence preferred FCC licence preferred; NCATT certification preferred Experience Experienced avionics/electrical technician with strong skills in aircraft systems testing, troubleshooting and electrical component installation Proficient in reading schematics, performing quality repairs and adapting to schedule changes while maintaining safety and documentation standards This position could be for first or second shift Additional Information Department: Service Center Employment type: Full-time Shift: Multiple Shifts Travel: Up to 25% Posting end date: 18 September 2026 Gulfstream does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position, unless the applicant is a currently sponsored Gulfstream employee.
Requirements
- Demonstrate technical skill and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting
