Role Overview Provide leadership, technical expertise and guidance while performing operational and functional tests and repairs of avionics, electronic and electrical aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect-free aircraft. The technician defines and implements process changes that reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising safety or quality, and has the knowledge and leadership skills to fill in for the team leader while adhering to daily work plans to maintain schedule requirements. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate superior technical skill and expertise in the operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems, and provide direct training to personnel to support company cross-training goals and maintain a safety-conscious, quality-oriented, skilled workforce Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical and avionics components and systems in accordance with engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free system Ensure the quality and efficiency of all installations; troubleshoot and teach troubleshooting processes and concepts to deliver timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems Repair or replace defective components and wiring so that installations meet conformity, using accepted repair techniques including splicing, soldering and pinning of wiring Oversee the performance of and compliance with engineering changes and modifications as required Set up and operate the necessary test equipment; conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability Maintain daily logs and other paperwork, ensuring all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented Pre-inspect the work of others before submission to inspection for approval, reducing rework and inspection time Provide technical expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment, electronic systems and components as required Enforce the company FOD programme, tool control programme, 5S programme and all safety regulations Adapt to sudden schedule changes Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects Additional duties Where required, teach the installation and functional testing of electrical and avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals Maintain self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, work may include flight tests on aircraft as required Perform other duties as assigned Requirements This vacancy covers all Savannah service centres, and candidates must be able to work any shift Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls or structural installations and repairs, is preferred APU run and engine run qualification preferred Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language Licences & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required A&P licence, FCC licence or NCATT certification preferred Experience High school diploma or GED required Six years of experience in an avionics or electrical career field; or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus four years of related experience Additional Information Department: Service Center Employment type: Full-time Shift: Multiple shifts Travel: Up to 25% Posting end date: 11 September 2026 Gulfstream does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position, unless the applicant is a currently sponsored Gulfstream employee.
Requirements
