Role Overview Plan and coordinate all electrical and avionics activities and provide customers with daily information on aircraft schedules, repairs, parts and components shipped to vendors. The role works with hangar management to coordinate electrical and avionics activities and to schedule aircraft requirements. This role is on first shift: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 to 16:30. Key Responsibilities Plan, schedule and complete tasks on work authorisations in order to meet the master schedule, and provide daily status reports and progress schedules to management Coordinate the efforts of electrical and avionics activities to meet aircraft schedules and deadlines Review work, including forms and records, to ensure compliance with the Site Inspection Procedures Manual, Site Operating Procedures and the Federal Aviation Regulations Supervise and instruct electrical technicians, giving technical guidance and correct procedures for troubleshooting electrical and avionics systems, routine inspections and preventive maintenance Provide input to subordinate performance appraisals and submit them to management for review Review daily job charging for all personnel, including support groups, to ensure accuracy of inputs Maintain a preventive maintenance programme for test equipment, hand tools and special tools Maintain current knowledge of Aircraft Service Changes (ASC), customer bulletins, inspection schedule requirements, vendor information and other procedures and publications relating to aircraft maintenance and servicing Supervise a continuous safety programme in the hangar area, covering the operation of support equipment, aircraft systems and general housekeeping Maintain required logs and records Enforce the company foreign object damage, tool control and 5S programmes and all safety regulations Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines on projects Establish and foster an environment of innovation and Lean-oriented thinking In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, this may include flight tests on aircraft as required Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, troubleshooting, technical manual systems and the aircraft maintenance records system Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls or structural installations and repairs, is preferred Ability to read and interpret electrical and avionics system drawings and blueprints Demonstrated leadership ability Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, implement and achieve objectives with minimal direction Good understanding of PC, Windows and mainframe computer applications, including standard word processing programs such as Microsoft Word; appropriate typing skills a plus Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted spaces and lift up to 100 lb Ability to use hand tools and avionics test equipment Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language Licences & Qualifications FAA A&P licence, or the ability to obtain a repairman certificate within 30 days of the start date FCC licence or NCATT certification preferred Experience High school diploma or GED required 2 years of experience on large / mid-size aircraft 8 years of experience in the aircraft avionics / electrical career field, or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus six years of related experience What We Offer Gulfstream employees benefit from a total rewards package that includes competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits plans, wellness programs, paid leave and tuition assistance. Requirements
