Bankruptcy Paralegal

Bankruptcy Paralegal Our client is seeking a Bankruptcy Paralegal for their New York office to support a creditor-focused practice, handling cases both locally and nationwide. The paralegal will provide essential services, including filing and serving pleadings in New York, New Jersey, and other federal bankruptcy courts, drafting and filing proofs of claim, and supporting contested hearings. This role requires the ability to manage case calendars, track critical deadlines, review claims, and assist with claims reconciliation. Additional responsibilities include drafting court documents such as retention and fee applications, coordinating with claims agents and court staff, and supporting attorneys in hearing and trial preparation. The paralegal will also monitor case dockets, summarize relevant pleadings, respond to creditor inquiries, and assist with closing bankruptcy and restructuring transactions. Candidates must possess excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel. A bachelor's degree is required, and a paralegal certificate is a plus. The position demands discretion, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Based in New York City, this role offers a salary range of $70,000 to $135,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
