Job Description Job Title: Nutrition Manager – High Department: Nutrition Services Reports To: Area Coordinator FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Work Calendar: Nutrition 183 Days Salary Scale: Uniform Salary Scale Job Summary and Purpose This position oversees the local nutrition operations at the school level to ensure safe and nutritious meals are being provided to the students and staff. Duties include supervising, training, and scheduling kitchen personnel, approving time‑sheets and payroll for staff, managing the production and execution of meals—including projecting, ordering, preparing, serving, and cleaning up—and maintaining all data and record‑keeping, conducting monthly inventories, managing daily cash register operations, and depositing funds to the bank. Work Objectives/Essential Functions Oversee food preparation and service to students and school employees. Supervise the preparation of food according to standardized recipes. Prepare daily production records and cleaning schedules for staff. Maintain consistency in food preparation and service to students and school employees. Follow all local and state food safety and sanitation guidelines. Perform a variety of kitchen assignments (e.g., baking, cashiering) as needed. Assist in receiving and proper storage of all kitchen deliveries. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas while adhering to local and state health codes. Supervise nutrition staff to ensure product quality, high customer service, and operational efficiency. Receive and reconcile vendor invoices, oversee daily sales reconciliation, and use own transportation to deposit cash at the bank. Ensure accurate forecasting of food production needs. Order and maintain adequate food supplies, and, if necessary, pick up products from other school locations during the work day. Participate in completing daily production records. Provide on‑the‑job training and complete annual staff evaluations. Attend mandatory departmental meetings. Education and Experience Associates degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Prior professional job‑related experience of three (3) years is required. Prior supervisory experience of two (2) years is preferred. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of institutional food‑service procedures, practices, and equipment. Knowledge of quality food production, nutritional values, and special dietary requirements. Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety measures. Basic computer competency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Perform business‑level math and accounting computations. Prepare food according to standardized recipes. Comply with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles and guidelines. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and communicate face‑to‑face with professionalism. Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills. Core Expectations of All Stafford Schools Employees Engage in ongoing professional development relevant to the position.
