Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist

Location: New York, NY 10029
Duration: 13+ Weeks (Contract, with possible extension)
Schedule: Day Shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Work Type: Onsite

Local Pay: From $50/hour

A leading healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical teams in the operating room. The role involves assisting during procedures, maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process.

• Assist surgeons, nurses, and physicians during surgical procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and equipment
• Pass instruments and anticipate surgeon needs during procedures, including emergencies
• Ensure patient safety through accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts
• Handle and label surgical specimens correctly
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, dressings, and post-operative room cleanup
• Support circulating duties and maintain aseptic standards
• Follow OSHA guidelines and proper use of PPE
• Assist with medication preparation and labeling under RN supervision
• Report equipment or supply issues and maintain organized OR and sterile storage areas

• High School Diploma required
• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Program
• CST Certification (NBSTSA) required
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 2 years of OR Technician experience in a hospital setting
• Cardiac surgery experience required

• Strong knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• High attention to detail and patient safety
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to work in fast-paced environments
