The? King County Department of Information Technology (KCIT)?is seeking? Senior Software Engineers ?to join our Software Engineering team. In this role, you'll design and deliver modern, cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Sitecore and other technologies. You'll also support and enhance legacy applications and serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues.

Job Duties

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

• Design and develop cloud-native applications using? Microsoft Power Platform ,? Dynamics 365 , and? Azure services ?(e.g., Logic Apps, Function Apps, App Service, API Management).
• Build and maintain? custom integrations ?and solutions using APIs, SDKs, and enterprise service layers.
• Develop and support? web-based applications ?using modern JavaScript frameworks such as? React ?and? Angular .
• Enhance and modernize? legacy applications ?across a variety of platforms and technologies.
• Develop and maintain? CI/CD pipelines , source code, documentation, and work items using? Azure DevOps .
• Implement and support? Dynamics 365 customizations , workflows, Power Automate flows, and model-driven apps.
• Serve as a? Tier 3 escalation point ?for complex technical issues within your application portfolio.
• Create and maintain? technical and user documentation ; provide training and knowledge transfer to team members and end users as needed.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and development practices; actively share knowledge and collaborate with peers across teams.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field - or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience developing solutions within the? Microsoft development stack , including several of the following:
• Microsoft Power Platform ?(Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
• Dynamics 365?(model-driven apps, workflows, customizations)
• Microsoft Visual Studio ,? C# ,? ASP.NET MVC ,? ASP.NET Web API ,? .NET Core ,? Entity Framework 6+
• JavaScript ,? AJAX ,? HTML ,? CSS , and modern frameworks such as? React ?or? Angular
• Experience with? Microsoft Azure ?services, including:
• App Service, Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, and Service Bus
• Familiarity with? relational and non-relational data storage ?design and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with? Agile methodologies ,? DevOps practices , and? Git-based version control .
• Strong? analytical and problem-solving skills ; ability to synthesize complex technical and business information.
• Excellent? communication and collaboration skills , with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in or with? public sector organizations , particularly in a government or civic technology environment.
• Microsoft certifications in Azure, Power Platform, or Dynamics 365.

Supplemental Information:

Hybrid Work: The work associated with this position will be performed through a combination of onsite work and telecommuting. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. Work Schedule: The normal work week for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Alternative work schedules may be considered. This position is FLSA Exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay.
