Position Title Grant Program Coordinator – Title I, Part C Migrant Education & Title VI Indian Education Salary 7 hours per day / 196 days per year (includes 11 paid holidays) $32.34 - $37.25 per hour, dependent upon previous years of experience Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance benefits, as administered by the School Employees Benefit Board (SEBB). Position Description The Grant Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating services and activities funded through assigned state, federal, tribal, local, or private grants. The coordinator serves as a liaison among students, families, staff, Tribal governments and organizations, community partners, funding agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure grant objectives are achieved, student and family needs are supported, and program requirements are met. The primary assignment of this position is coordination and implementation of the District's Title I, Part C Migrant Education Program and Title VI Indian Education Program . As the District's primary staff member assigned to these programs, the coordinator performs the program coordination, student and family support, identification and outreach, record keeping, compliance, reporting, and other functions necessary to implement both programs. Specific responsibilities may change based upon grant requirements, student and family needs, funding levels, and District priorities. This position is contingent upon the availability of grant funding and continued program need. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree, 72 quarter credits, 48 semester credits, paraeducator certification, or equivalent experience as required for assignment. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with Tribal students and families, migrant students and families, community organizations, and grant-funded programs preferred. Positive existing relationships and connections with the Skokomish Tribe strongly preferred. Demonstrated organizational, communication, technology, data management, and record-keeping skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet established deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, families, staff, Tribal representatives, community partners, and agencies. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule when necessary to participate in family, community, Tribal, or program activities outside the regular school day. Valid Washington State Driver's License and ability to travel within the District and surrounding community as required. Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance. Essential Functions Grant and Program Coordination Coordinate the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned grant-funded programs and services. Work with the supervising administrator to monitor program goals, student and family needs, budgets, data, and compliance requirements. Coordinate required grant applications, plans, reports, records, evaluations, and other documentation. Monitor grant activities and expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets and applicable federal, state, District, and grant-specific requirements. Collect, maintain, analyze, and report student and program data to support compliance and continuous improvement. Collaborate with District staff, families, funding agencies, Tribal and community partners, and other stakeholders to coordinate services and achieve program goals. Coordinate grant-funded tutoring, mentoring, enrichment, family engagement, summer programming, and other student services and activities. Title I, Part C Migrant Education Coordinate the District's Migrant Education Program in accordance with the District's local program plan, State Service Delivery Plan, and applicable state and federal requirements. Identify and recruit potentially eligible migrant children and youth, including outreach to families, schools, employers, agencies, and community partners. Complete and maintain required eligibility and recruitment documentation, including Certificates of Eligibility, revalidation, and follow-up information. Maintain accurate migrant student records and required state data system information, including enrollment, withdrawal, educational, health, and supportive-service data, and regularly review records and reports for accuracy. Monitor migrant student attendance, academic progress, participation, and other indicators; identify barriers to student success; and coordinate appropriate supplemental supports and services. Serve as a liaison among migrant students and families, District staff, sending and receiving schools, and community providers to support educational continuity and connect families with available resources. Conduct family outreach, including home visits as appropriate, and provide information about Migrant Education and other educational and community programs and services. Complete required Migrant Education training related to identification and recruitment, records, student advocacy, program requirements, and reporting. Title VI Indian Education Coordinate the District's Title VI Indian Education Program in accordance with the approved grant application, federal requirements, and District priorities, including required applications, performance reports, eligibility records, and program documentation. Maintain a visible and consistent presence with Native American students and families, develop trusting relationships, and serve as an advocate, liaison, and point of contact within the school system. Monitor Native American students' attendance, academic progress, engagement, and overall school experience; identify needs; and work with students, families, and staff to coordinate appropriate supports and services. Work with teachers, administrators, counselors, special education staff, and families to monitor the progress and services of Native American students receiving special education or other specialized supports and help ensure effective communication and coordination of services. Participate, as appropriate, in student support meetings to provide relevant information, support families, advocate for student needs, and help connect students with District, Tribal, grant-funded, and community resources. Coordinate and support the District's Indian Parent Committee and required parent and stakeholder consultation activities. Maintain ongoing communication and conduct outreach with Native American students and families, the Skokomish Tribe, Tribal education programs, and other community partners, including home visits as appropriate. Coordinate academic, attendance, tutoring, enrichment, cultural, family engagement, and other Title VI-supported activities that promote student success, belonging, and cultural connection. Review student and program data with District staff and recommend strategies, services, and resources to improve outcomes for Native American students. Coordinate with tutors, mentors, Tribal partners, contractors, volunteers, and others providing Title VI-supported services, and provide or coordinate resources and professional learning related to Native American education and culturally responsive practices. General Responsibilities Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, outreach materials, and other program communications. Attend required trainings, conferences, meetings, and professional development activities. Maintain confidentiality and professional and ethical standards in all student, family, personnel, and program matters. Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with students, families, staff, Tribal partners, community organizations, and agencies. Maintain regular and consistent attendance and adhere to the assigned work schedule. Supervise students during grant-supported activities, field trips, and other program activities as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising administrator. Requirements Ability to work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple programs, responsibilities, timelines, records, and reporting requirements. Strong relationships with Skokomish families, staff, and community Initiative and ability to work with minimal direction and supervision; sound judgment and decision-making capabilities are essential. Ability to collect, maintain, interpret, and report student and program data accurately. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural, ethnic, linguistic, gender, religious, and other diversity of students, families, staff, and community. Ability to develop trusting relationships with students and families while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Must be trustworthy and demonstrate a high level of integrity and work ethic throughout all duties. Must be punctual and dependable. Regular and consistent attendance is required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Funding Contingency This position is funded in whole or in part through grant funds. Employment in this position is contingent upon the availability of funding and continued program need. The District reserves the right to reduce hours, modify assignments, transfer the employee to another available position for which they are qualified, or discontinue the position if grant funding is reduced, eliminated, or otherwise unavailable. Working Conditions The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require regular interaction with students, families, staff, and community members in school, home, Tribal, and community settings. The position may require travel within the District and surrounding community and participation in occasional meetings, family outreach, or program activities outside the regular school day. Physical demands may include sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time; walking, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and handling; moving quickly in response to situations involving students; lifting up to 25 pounds; and occasional work outdoors or in inclement weather.
