Maintenance Technician

Our customer in Freeport, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting a Maintenance Technician to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing or assisting with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repair work.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs for buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Complete carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and masonry tasks.
• Maintain and repair HVAC systems, appliances, and mechanical equipment.
• Perform custodial duties and maintain clean, safe facilities.
• Maintain grounds including mowing, landscaping, and seasonal upkeep.
• Operate vehicles, tractors, tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Complete work orders, inspections, and maintenance records.
• Respond to maintenance issues and troubleshoot repairs.
• Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with residents, property management, and maintenance staff.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of apartment/housing maintenance or related experience.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Understanding of maintenance safety practices and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• General knowledge of, or ability to learn, HUD regulations and PHA policies.

Pay for Maintenance Technician: $18.00/hour.

Maintenance Technician Type: 1st Shift, full-time.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 7:30am to 4:00pm. Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
