Success in this role demands a proactive approach, high accountability, precision, and the ability to mentor junior team members.Essential Job FunctionsLead compliance efforts with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, and best practicesOversee and optimize month-end close processes, including complex account reconciliationsDevelop and implement advanced accrual methodologies and fixed asset accounting strategiesLead inventory and feed accounting processes, identifying areas for improvementConduct in-depth operational analysis, create financial models, and provide strategic insights based on KPIsStay at the forefront of developments and trends in finance and administration, implementing best practicesPerform complex variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations based on resultsLead internal audits and manage external audit processes, ensuring accuracy and complianceDesign and deliver comprehensive financial reports for senior management and stakeholdersSpearhead continuous improvement initiatives across the accounting departmentRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting with relevant experience4+ years of progressive accounting experience in a similar industryExpert-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functionsProven experience with ERP systems implementation and optimizationStrong leadership and mentoring skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Accounting or CPAAdvanced proficiency with accounting software for large corporationsExpertise in data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similarIn-depth understanding of operations systems in manufacturing, warehouse management, and agricultural processesExperience in cost accounting and financial planning in the agricultural or food production industryWork EnvironmentThis position requires the ability to travel 5-15% of the time. The role primarily involves office work with potential for on-site visits to production facilities.
