Support students in a dynamic educational environment by providing essential occupational therapy services. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s development and academic success alongside a dedicated team of education professionals.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure or certification in Occupational Therapy or as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience working within school or pediatric settings is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in evaluating and supporting both fine and gross motor skill development
- Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans with measurable goals
- Collaborative mindset for working with teachers, parents, and other support staff
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Comfortable adapting strategies for diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student needs related to fine and gross motor skill development
- Provide consistent, evidence-based therapy sessions in group and one-on-one formats
- Document progress and prepare reports tailored to student IEPs and school requirements
- Collaborate with educators, administrative staff, and families to support student achievement
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insight and recommendations for continued growth
- Adapt equipment, environments, and activities to increase student independence and participation in the classroom
- Stay current with best practices and continuing education in occupational therapy for school settings
