Benefits: 401(k) Employee discounts Free uniforms Paid time off Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites Matteson Chicago Managed By: Garnet Hotels Location: 500 Holiday Plaza Drive, Matteson, IL 60443 Department: Front Office Reports To: Front Office Manager Typical Shift: 10:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m. Position Summary Garnet Hotels is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and guest-focused Night Auditor to join the opening team at Fairfield Inn & Suites Matteson Chicago. The Night Auditor will provide overnight Front Desk service, complete the daily audit, reconcile financial transactions, prepare reports, and ensure the hotel is ready for the next business day. The ideal candidate has hotel Front Desk or night audit experience, strong knowledge of the Lightspeed Property Management System, basic accounting skills, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide professional overnight service. Complete guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and reservation changes. Perform the nightly audit accurately and on schedule. Balance room revenue, cash receipts, credit-card transactions, and other financial records. Reconcile guest accounts and resolve discrepancies. Prepare and distribute daily occupancy, revenue, and management reports. Prepare hotel systems for the next business day. Answer telephone calls and assist with reservations and hotel information. Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, and emergencies. Coordinate overnight concerns with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and hotel leadership. Conduct routine property walks and monitor public areas. Maintain accurate overnight activity and incident records. Protect confidential guest and financial information. Follow Marriott standards, hotel policies, and company procedures. Perform additional Front Office responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum two years of hotel Front Desk or night audit experience. Experience performing hotel night audits and financial reconciliation. Strong experience with the Lightspeed PMS. Basic accounting, bookkeeping, and cash-handling knowledge. Excellent guest-service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word. Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Marriott hotel and new-opening experience are preferred. CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it, is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to remain alert throughout overnight shifts. Ability to respond promptly to guest needs and emergency situations.
