Adolescent Addiction Counselor

The Adolescent Addiction Recovery Center (AARC), located within Children's Hospital of Michigan in Troy, is seeking a dedicated Substance Use Counselor to join our growing team.

AARC provides specialized outpatient addiction and recovery services to adolescents and young adults throughout Southeast Michigan. Through the support of the Children's Foundation, multiple donors, and community partnerships, we are able to provide services regardless of a family's ability to pay, ensuring access to care for those who need it most.

This part-time position offers the opportunity to work with an underserved population while helping to grow an innovative adolescent recovery program, with potential for future full-time employment.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week to start

Responsibilities

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide individual counseling services to adolescents
• Engage and support families throughout treatment
• Coordinate care with providers, schools, and community resources
• Provide case management, crisis intervention, and discharge planning
• Complete clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner

Qualifications

Required

• LMSW or LPC licensed in Michigan
• Active CADC or CAADC certification (required for billing purposes)
• Experience working with adolescents, young adults, or families
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred

• Experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
• Experience in outpatient behavioral health or addiction treatment
