Sun River Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health services across our Bedford and Church Avenue locations.Position SummaryThe psychiatrist provides psychiatric services within the Article 31 of Sun River Health. This individual provides quality care to patients within the practice. This individual coordinates with the SVP of Behavioral Health and other Article 31 professionals in order to uphold the standards of psychiatric interventions in accordance Sun River Health clinical standards of practices and in conjunction with federal, state and local regulations.The Psychiatrist will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of psychiatric conditions, providing medication management, conducting evaluations, and offering therapeutic interventions. This role is vital in promoting mental health and wellness for the underserved population of Church Avenue Health Center, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care in a supportive and culturally competent environment.Job Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: $270,309.00 - $293,631.00 Based off licensure and experienceSign-On Bonus: $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Eligible External Applicants – Terms and Conditions Apply.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct psychiatric evaluations, including comprehensive assessments and diagnosis of mental health conditions.Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management and therapeutic interventions in coordination with the patient’s treatment team. Provide ongoing medication monitoring and psychiatric care, develop initial and update pharmacological treatment plans based on patient’s progress.Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle changes to promote well-being.Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic, integrated patient care.Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, High Risk meetings, and multidisciplinary team efforts to optimize patient care.Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, adhering to regulatory and legal requirements.Offer crisis intervention and manage psychiatric emergencies as needed.Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed of the latest advancements in psychiatry.Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving patient care and clinical outcomes.Provide supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals as required.Essential Job QualificationsMinimum Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with a focus in PsychiatryWork Experience: 3-5 years of clinical experience in psychiatryMinimum Licensure: Valid and active New York State medical license.Board Certification in Psychiatry is preferred or Board Eligible for recent graduates Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.DEA License (active or eligible).Required Skills & KnowledgeProficient in diagnosing and treating a variety of psychiatric conditions.Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while fostering an environment of trust and support.Knowledge of current psychiatric guidelines and best practices.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and patient education.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while maintaining a focus on quality care.Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required.About Sun River HealthSun River Health has a rich history of providing quality, affordable health care to communities in need.
