AWS Lead Software Engineer - Java/Spring Boot

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We need formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on coding experience in one or more programming languages, including Java.
• We need experience designing and implementing applications with Spring Boot.
• We need practical experience with AWS cloud technologies.
• We need experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database query languages.
• We need a solid understanding of the software development life cycle.
• We need a strong grasp of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We need demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
• We prefer proven experience designing and building scalable big data warehouses with Apache Spark, including ingestion, transformation, and optimization for large datasets.
• We prefer working knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Docker, along with experience using Databricks for distributed data processing and analytics.
• We prefer hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, and EMR, NoSQL databases like MongoDB, and modern data lake technologies including Apache Iceberg for efficient storage and management.

• We develop code that aligns with the design, meets non-functional requirements, and follows coding standards and conventions.
• We create detailed unit test cases, perform unit testing and integration testing, support QA and user acceptance testing, and respond to ad hoc user queries.
• We practice test-driven development, automated testing, and continuous integration.
• We actively take part in peer review sessions by assessing code quality, ensuring best practices are followed, identifying defects, and providing constructive feedback.
• We mentor and support junior developers through technical guidance, knowledge-sharing sessions, work reviews, and skill-building support.
• We analyze programs, troubleshoot production issues, identify performance tuning opportunities, and implement optimization measures.
• We collaborate with regional and global team members across other locations.
• We maintain a good understanding of change management and release processes.
