Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Professional Line Cook to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating and building menu Items and preparing delicious meals for our customers. The ideal candidate is experienced, hardworking, dependable, and willing to lead in the kitchen. Looking for someone to take charge and provide direction during service. 

BBQ King Smokehouse & Tavern is a family-owned, award-winning barbecue restaurant and tavern on the rise. In 2025 and 2026 we took home Best Ribs and Grand Champion titles, and Best Sauce we compete in rib festivals across the region and have won over 50 awards over the years. We smoke our meats low and slow, grind 100% USDA Angus beef in-house every day for our burgers, and take pride in doing things the right way. Real Wood, Real Smoke, Real Food.

What You'll Do

•       Deliver friendly, professional service that keeps guests coming back

•       Prepare and serve food to our standards of quality, consistency, and presentation

•       Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards

•       Support teammates during busy lunch rushes and events

•       Learn multiple stations and take on more responsibility as you grow

What We're Looking For

•       Restaurant experience is a plus, but we'll train the right person

•       Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities: 

• Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment
• Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner
• Supervise and delegate tasks to other team members
• Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary
• Follow all food safety regulations

Qualifications : 

• Previous experience as a line cook
• Real World Experience
• ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification
• Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes
• Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong leadership skills
