Responsibilities
- Deliver prescribed radiation therapy using approved equipment, ensuring treatments align with physician prescriptions and patient identification, chart, and diagnosis.
- Prepare the treatment room and patient positioning, transferring immobilized patients safely and attending to any catheters, IVs, or life-support devices as needed.
- Obtain patient history, answer questions, explain procedures, monitor for adverse reactions during treatment, and provide appropriate patient education.
- Schedule, coordinate, and document treatments; collaborate with physicists at treatment initiation and consult with physicians, nurses, and social workers as part of the treatment team.
- Verify prescriptions and treatment parameters, perform port-film verification as directed, and adjust therapy per physician guidance.
- Maintain accurate electronic or written documentation, including evaluation results, treatment plans, and progress notes; uphold safety, infection control, and quality-improvement standards.
- Support ongoing professional development by engaging in education, in-service sessions, and current literature related to radiation therapy.

Requirements
- Education: Associate degree in radiography with a certification in radiation therapy; graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program; ARRT registration in Radiation Therapy.
- Licenses/Certifications: State of Ohio licensed radiation therapist; ARRT license; CPR certification. Ohio Department of Health license considered preferred upon submission.
- Experience: 1–2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; problem-solving, multitasking, and independent decision-making skills; ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Additional: Must be able to work in a fast-paced clinical setting and adhere to established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
