Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care in the Emergency Department, addressing urgent and emergent patient needs. Coordinates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, high-quality care and ensures patient safety during critical moments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on all ED patients, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond according to ACLS protocols.
• Assist physicians with procedures requiring technical and manual skills, including transfers and admissions.
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and treatments tailored to their needs.
• Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and other departments to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Maintain flexibility and organization to function effectively under stress in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in ED or similar acute care settings.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and hemodynamic interpretation.
• Be willing to float across units, including ED, MS, and PCU, and adapt to changing patient needs.
• Have rural/small facility experience highly preferred.
• Be vaccinated for COVID-19 and willing to obtain PALS or ENPC certification within 6 months of hire.
