Job Title: Billing Specialist

Location: Sugar Land, TX

Compensation: $25.00 – $26.00 / hour

Benefits: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team in the Sugar Land area. This role is responsible for generating accurate customer invoices, maintaining billing records, and supporting the accounts receivable process. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, experience working in high-volume billing environments, and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Invoice Processing

• Generate and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Review billing documentation to ensure accuracy prior to invoice submission
• Submit invoices through customer portals, email, or other required platforms
• Maintain organized billing records and supporting documentation

Account Support & Dispute Resolution

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, billing details, and account status
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and disputed invoices
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues impacting billing or payment timelines

Reconciliation & Reporting

• Assist with billing reconciliations and account analysis
• Support month-end close activities related to billing and accounts receivable
• Prepare billing reports and provide updates to management as needed

Administrative & Accounting Support

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
• Support the accounting team with additional reporting and administrative tasks
• Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and efficiencies

Qualifications

• 2+ years of billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable experience preferred
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred ( Deltek preferred)
• Strong Excel skills including formulas, data entry, and reconciliations (Pivot tables and V-LOOKUPS)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
