As an Accounting Manager on this team, you will execute on high priority projects for the company in support of our strategy and vision. You will be a self-starter responsible for managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. The ideal candidate is a strong accounting professional with a demonstrated ability to work well in teams, deliver in a challenging and fast-paced environment, and has experience in project management.The Controller's Group supports the financial implementation of new products, services, and systems with countless opportunities for knowledge growth.In this role you will:Work autonomously on large and small scale projects that have a direct impact on the companyPlan, design, manage, execute and document project plans to ensure delivery, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the workProactively identify and remediate risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where necessaryDemonstrate outstanding communication skill by displaying ability to tailor written and verbal messages to the appropriate level including an executive audience; produce professional, thoughtful presentation materials to drive home the big picture for leadership teams to make well informed decisions; and demonstrate confidence in presenting to that audienceDisplay strong consulting and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholders across all levels to understand accounting and business problems, ensure accountability and focus on bringing issues to resolutionDemonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demandsShow a willingness to learn and an intellectual curiosity to better understand Capital One's business processes to identify areas to streamline or improve accounting and business processesApply understanding of financial, data, and technology concepts to program objectivesLeverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intentContribute to process improvement through project development and knowledge sharingBuild relationships and collaborate with both our local teams, and with multiple teams across the organization on various corporate initiativesFacilitate the consistent use of the Agile methodology for delivering projectsPresent results, findings, risks and recommendations to leadership and stakeholdersDisplay a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership styleBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 3 years of experience in Accounting, or Audit, or Finance, or a combinationAt least 1 years of Process Improvement experiencePreferred Qualifications:Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licenseProject Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification3+ years of experience with Agile methodologies1+ years of experience with Jira or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systemsAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Associate, AccountingRichmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, AccountingWilmington, DE: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, AccountingCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
