A well-established, employee-owned engineering and design consultancy is seeking a Vice President to lead its Urban Development team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong background in business development, client management, project delivery, and team leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving growth, developing client relationships, mentoring staff, and overseeing the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects. Location Dallas or Fort Worth, Texas Employment Type Full-time | In-Office Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee major urban development and civil engineering projects as Principal-in-Charge and Senior Project Manager. Drive business development efforts by identifying opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and securing new work. Develop proposals, negotiate scopes and fees, and support contract management, invoicing, and collections. Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical oversight to engineering teams. Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and quality control processes. Direct the preparation and review of engineering designs, construction plans, and technical reports. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards. Support strategic planning and market growth initiatives within the urban development sector. Lead client meetings, project kick-offs, and high-level design discussions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for clients. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas. 15+ years of civil engineering experience, including at least 8 years in project management and leadership roles. Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management. Experience delivering complex civil engineering and land development projects. Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
