Sr Indirect Underwriter

Purpose/Duties Responsible for reviewing and making decisions on indirect loan applications from dealers using formalized risk assessment and pricing. Must be able to work on occasional nights, weekends and holidays as business demands require. Must participate in training annually, or as required for BSA and the Privacy Act. Key Result Areas Provides prompt, friendly and accurate service to internal and external customers. Responsible for bringing in the appropriate mix of business as directed by ACU while maintaining credit quality and yield goals. Meet with dealers to review production, application flow and service issues and improve sales and overall production. Obtain, foster and retain profitable indirect consumer lending relationships with automotive dealers. Call on new and existing dealers to sell ACU lending services. 15% of the position is spent calling on new and existing dealers to build and strengthen the relationship, 85% will be spent underwriting. Maintains a working knowledge of all lending policies and guidelines and all aspects of loan closings. Responsible for bringing $3.5m in incremental monthly production to the credit union. Maintain credit quality and profitability goals set forth by Achieva Credit Union. Responsible for upholding all credit union ethical standards. Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner. Perform other essential job functions as required or assigned. Required Education Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience Required Experience Minimum 5 years indirect/underwriting lending experience, automotive industry preferred Minimum 8 years Credit and sales skills Minimum 5 years knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements Minimum 3 years successful track record of relationship management Required Skills Ability to negotiate Microsoft office, desired Temenos, desired FSP, desired CMS, desired Impeccable interpersonal skills Professional demeanor Ability to work independently Achieva Credit Union is an equal opportunity employer.
