If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact through your work and contributing to a mission of compassionate care, we invite you to apply today and join our Mercy family.ResponsibilitiesThe Coding Specialist II identifies, reviews, interprets, codes, and abstracts clinical information from inpatient, observation, and surgical records for the purpose of reimbursement, research and compliance with federal and state regulations and other agencies utilizing established coding principles and protocols.RequirementsEducation and Work Experience:Must possess a high school diploma or GEDAssociate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school, or Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Health Information Management or in a related field or have a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder – Hospital Outpatient (CPC-H) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) designation.A minimum of 2 years acute care facility coding experience.
