About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Tele RN experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips, wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, and central line management Description: Seeking an RN for MedSurg/Tele. The unit consists of 32 beds with an average daily census of 32 patients. The patient population includes stroke, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, and wound care. The RN to patient ratio is typically 1:5-6, with the potential for surge staffing ratios of 1:7-8. Support staff includes CNAs to assist with daily activities and mobility. A charge nurse may have or may not have patient assignments. Phlebotomy and IV/VAT team support are available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is provided by dedicated staff. The facility utilizes electronic medical records, IV pumps, med dispensing systems, and various monitoring equipment. Floating is required within the region and scope of practice. All staff will be required to float to various facilities as needed. Travelers should expect to work every other weekend and 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays. The unit culture promotes teamwork and is patient-centered. Scrub color is navy.
