Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting practice in New York. This position is ideal for a finance specialist who can oversee day-to-day accounting activities, handle corporate tax work, and deliver accurate financial reporting for a varied client portfolio. The role offers the opportunity to contribute strategic insight, strengthen internal accounting processes, and support a high standard of client service in an in-person environment.Responsibilities:• Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets, with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.• Complete corporate tax returns and related filings for business entities while maintaining compliance with applicable requirements.• Reconcile bank activity and review discrepancies to ensure records are complete and properly aligned.• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including the preparation and review of journal entries.• Update supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.• Assist with audit support by organizing documentation and responding to financial information requests.• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and recommend practical process enhancements.• Contribute to month-end close activities and provide additional accounting support as business needs evolve.
