RN NICU

The Registered Nurse in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The role involves managing patient care with a focus on neonatal assessment, treatment planning, and medication administration within a high-acuity pediatric environment. The nurse must have at least 2 years of NICU experience, preferably with Level III expertise, and deliver care with strong communication and teamwork skills. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU setting.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status and interventions.
• Manage patient ratios ranging from 1:2 to 1:4 based on acuity.
• Float between units as required to meet patient care needs.
• Participate in self-scheduling for weekend shifts within a 6-week period.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years NICU nursing experience, preferably with Level III NICU expertise.
• Clinical skills in neonatal assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Strong interdisciplinary team collaboration abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

• Experience working in a Level IV NICU environment.
• Previous experience with pediatric trauma or children's hospital settings.
• Additional certifications related to neonatal or pediatric nursing.

• No on-call requirement.
• Weekend shifts required: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period with variable, self-scheduling.
• Floating between units may be required.
• 48-hour shifts are not approved.
• Patient ratios expected between 1:2 and 1:4.

• Block scheduling is required.
• Shifts include weekends with self-scheduling flexibility.
• Longer contracts than 13 weeks are possible based on candidate preference.
