Sr Mech Engineer - Processors and Electronic Packaging

Position Overview Sr. Mechanical Engineer – Processors and Electronic Packaging, Airborne Radar Design department. Responsibilities include electronics packaging design for Airborne Radar Subsystems (Receiver, Exciter, Processor, Power Supply). Provide mechanical support throughout the hardware life cycle, including concept development, design, integration, testing, transition to production, production support, and installation. Responsibilities Provide technical support on major programs and interface with Lead Mechanical Engineers and Chief Engineers to support design objectives. Lead smaller project teams through design development, ensuring established procedures are followed and technical data packages are completed. Work from requirements to develop unit design concepts and perform design trades. Develop technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems. Complete detailed layouts and design documentation using CAD tools. Provide support to suppliers, including writing Statements of Work. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in STEM field or minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Experience with ANSI drawing standards. Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances). Experience with electronic packaging. Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools. Preferred Qualifications Design experience in high‑frequency environments, enclosure design, EMI shielding, and thermal management. High proficiency with CREO or similar 3‑D solid modeling software. Proficiency in RF principles, RF circuit card design, RF materials, manufacturing and producibility. Experience with antenna or processor mechanical design. Experience with VME, VITA and SOSA open architecture standards. Experience with high‑speed VPX technology. Experience with embedded processing technology. Exposure to manufacturing processes for CCAs, metal housings, brazing. Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering. Prior defense or aerospace experience. Active security clearance (DoD Secret). Security Clearance U.S. citizenship required. Active, transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret) required prior to start date. Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD.
