Job Summary
We are seeking a fun, kind, compassionate, and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide in-home care for a 91-year-old, bed-ridden hospice patient who is post-stroke with a right leg amputation. The patient is cognitively awar e and enjoys good company from a respectful, professional caregiver. Professional attire expected. Our family deeply values a CNA who brings both skill and compassion to hospice care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Safely transfer and reposition the patient using a Hoyer Lift (experience preferred; training available).
- Lifting necessary to assist with out of the home appointments to doctors and other specialist.
- Take and accurately record blood pressure
- Assist with toileting and personal hygiene needs
- Prepare pureed meals according to dietary requirements and kitchen clean up
- Perform light housekeeping & garbage removal in home & to curbside for pickup
- Complete laundry duties for the patient
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment in patient areas
- Follow hospice care plans, safety standards, and infection control protocols
- Excessive Phone use not tolerated or paid for
- Phone usage by the hired help expected during break times
- 1 - 30 minute break and 1 -15 minute break is mandatory for the 12 to 10pm shift.
