The Senior Tax Accountant will need to be detail-oriented with good time management and is looking to be a key contributor to our tax initiatives, including tax compliance, tax provisioning, and tax planning. This position is located in Columbia, Missouri but can be remote with travel as needed.Primary ResponsibilitiesDemonstrated expertise in state tax compliance and tax accounting (including sales & use, property, and state income/franchise taxes) is required.Support preparation of all tax filings, mailings, and paymentsAssist with information requests from internal and external auditorsConduct detailed research and analysis of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance for the organizationEvaluate purchasing data for use tax reporting requirementsPerform other related duties or assist with special projectsPerform month-end income tax provisionsCommunicate across various departments to create and maintain efficient workflowsDiagnose opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency of processes relating to tax related accountsCollaborate with the team to streamline processes, design new workflows when needed, implement new systems, and train new team membersUse formulas and pivot tables to manage and analyze revenue streams and related dataWork with the broader team on strategic initiatives relating to a wide variety of taxes applicable to our businessResponsible for complex invoice level tax inquiries from field employees.Responsible for mentoring junior team members.
