As the Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead our Sales Team with a primary focus on coaching, team development, driving sales results, and managing customer relationships for our Pacific Northwest business. You will be accountable for fostering a high-performance culture, ensuring operational discipline, and delivering consistent sales and margin growth through effective leadership and alignment with regional goals.
The Sales Manager reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager for our Northeast region.
This role is based out of our Frederick, MD office. Frequent travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire sales teams to consistently achieve—and surpass—sales and margin targets.
- Coach, mentor, and elevate your team's skills and performance through structured development, guidance, and support.
- Set clear expectations and drive accountability through ongoing feedback, performance reviews, and thoughtful corrective action when necessary.
- Lead through empowerment—focus on developing and enabling your team's selling capabilities.
- Leverage CRM systems, forecasting tools, and data-driven reporting to monitor performance, identify trends and opportunities, and build a culture centered on results.
- Partner with Sales, Distribution and Manufacturing leaders to build and execute annual business plans aligned with market needs and organizational priorities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to set budgets and deliver consistent financial performance, meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual targets.
- Use market intelligence to grow share and influence buying decisions, driving demand for Metrie-distributed products.
- Expand the customer base and bring new products and go-to-market strategies to life for our distribution business.
- Champion a high-performance culture, taking ownership of team results and maintaining momentum regardless of market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred—relevant experience is equally valued.
- 3–5 years of successful leadership experience, with a record of motivating teams and achieving strong results.
- Confident communicator able to partner effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Experienced in coaching and developing talent, with a track record of driving measurable growth in skills and performance.
- Strong at building account plans and sales processes and ensuring teams stay focused and accountable.
- Adaptable coaching style, able to support reps across different customer tiers and sales models.
- Collaborative partner who excels at removing barriers and enabling the team to succeed.
- Committed to accountability and constructive performance management, addressing challenges promptly and professionally.
- Clear, consistent communicator who provides meaningful feedback that accelerates development.
- Resilient, focused, and steady under pressure, maintaining performance despite shifting market or operational conditions.
